Strontium naturally occurs in sea water at about 8-10 ppm. Maintaining strontium levels within the range of 5-15 ppm is advisable for a healthy marine environment. It is important to note that anecdotal evidence suggests that strontium levels below 5 ppm can negatively impact coral growth in marine aquariums.

For those who are serious about their aquarium hobby, it is essential to regularly check strontium levels in your marine tank to monitor its uptake. To calculate strontium usage, perform regular tests and determine your dosing requirements based on the depletion rate. It is a good practice to check strontium levels every week or two.

Manual Dosing

We suggest starting with 1 drop (0.05 ml) per day for every 100 liters (26 gallons) of tank water. Feel free to adjust the dosing up or down based on your specific tank conditions and the density of corals present.

Advanced Dosing

For those who want to take it a step further, 1 ml will increase strontium levels by 0.5 ppm (mg/L) for every 100 liters (26 gallons) of tank water. If you prefer drop dosing, 2 drops (0.1 ml) will raise strontium levels by 0.05 ppm in 100 liters. If you are aware of your strontium depletion rate, please dose accordingly as outlined above.
