Orthophosphates are found in both natural waters and wastewater. They are frequently added to drinking water as a corrosion inhibitor. The analysis of orthophosphates through colorimetric determination offers rapid results using a standard analytical technique. TIPS FOR ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS

• Ensure that the sample you are measuring is free from any suspended particles or stains.
• The outside of the cuvette must be clean and dry.
• Avoid shaking the cuvette, as this can create air bubbles that lead to inaccurate readings. Instead, gently move the cuvette in circles or tap it lightly to remove air bubbles.
• Proceed with the measurement procedure immediately after adding the reagent.
• Always use a timer to keep each measurement consistent (for example, 1:50 one time and 2:05 another can produce different results).
• Rinse the cuvette right after use to prevent the build-up of reagents (dyes).
• Keep the inside of the cuvette clean at all times.
