Aquaforest AF PO4+ Lab – 200 ml
The use of strong filter media, nutrient depressants, and skimmers can lead to a sudden decrease in phosphate levels within your aquarium. Phosphorus plays a crucial role for zooxanthellae, which are the photosynthetic algae that coexist with corals. When phosphorus levels reach zero in the aquarium, the zooxanthellae will simply “starve.” Achieving zero PO4 levels in a saltwater aquarium complicates the reduction of NO3, making precise phosphate value adjustments essential.
AF PO4+ is specifically designed for aquarium owners who have a limited number of fish or utilize very intensive filtration. The presence of heavily sterilized water that lacks nutrients can lead to issues such as coral discoloration, bleaching, and significantly slowed growth. LPS corals are particularly vulnerable to low nutrient levels. AF PO4+ enables you to accurately adjust phosphate levels and swiftly restore them to the desired range.
This product is part of the Aquaforest Lab line, created for aquarists who wish to maintain full control over their tank parameters. Before using the product, it is advisable to test both NO3 and PO4 levels, and to dose gradually until the desired phosphate level is reached. The product comes in a convenient and safe package, making it suitable for use in marine aquariums.
Dosage
- 1 ml of AF PO4+ added to 100 liters of aquarium water will increase the phosphate level by 0.01 mg/l (ppm).
- The maximum recommended daily dose is 1 ml per 100 liters.
- The optimal phosphate (PO4) value for a reef aquarium is between 0.03 and 0.05 mg/l (ppm).
- Only use when the PO4 level is very low.
