Focustronic Powertronic
The Powertronic is an intelligent power bar that offers three modes for each socket. You can set it to AUTO or ON/OFF depending on the equipment you are managing. In AUTO mode, it operates on a 24-hour schedule and responds based on the parameters tested by Mastertronic and/or Alkatronic.
Devices connected to the Powertronic can be controlled wirelessly even when you are away from home. The three available modes are Auto, On, and Off.
The Auto mode is a feature-rich function that allows users to set rules for triggering on/off actions, including the duration of these events. For instance, if the NO3 level is too low, it can turn off your filter or skimmer for several hours or even days to let nutrients build up again.
Basic Philosophy
Reefing today is vastly different from the past, particularly regarding automation. In earlier times, reef automation was quite limited because users did not have access to live data of tested parameters to initiate necessary actions. With our range of automatic testers, such as Alkatronic and Mastertronic, we can monitor over 10 parameters in real time!
Each parameter can trigger multiple actions, such as additional doses via Dosetronic or switching power on or off for a socket on the Powertronic. This capability allows for real-time automated actions without requiring user interaction in day-to-day activities, while still keeping essential parameters in check. With the Focustronic All in One app, setting everything up is incredibly straightforward! Here are a few examples of what you can achieve:
Case 1:
Mastertronic measures the dKH level and if it exceeds the high reference level while the system is running a calcium reactor, the user can set a rule to switch off socket 1 on the Powertronic, which controls the feed pump of the calcium reactor. When the dKH returns to an acceptable range, the socket will turn back on.
Case 2:
One of the great features of the Powertronic is the ability to create a schedule based on the time of day with 30-minute intervals. In the calcium reactor setup described above, there will be a daily fluctuation of dKH over 24 hours due to the constant output from the reactor, while dKH uptake by the corals may vary during the light and dark periods. At night, the Powertronic can minimize this fluctuation by implementing an on/off schedule.
Case 3:
Nutrients are crucial in reef keeping, and a protein skimmer is commonly used to export excess nutrients. Similar to the previous cases, the skimmer can also be scheduled and powered off for a set duration (for example, 1 hour) when NO3 or PO4 levels are too low. This allows nutrients to accumulate again, preventing corals from being starved, which could lead to bleaching or STN.
