This switch box connects to the IO port, which is available on all Apex controllers, as well as on PM1, PM2, PM3, and ASM modules. The left and right red toggle switches (Switch 1 and Switch 6) are latching, meaning they remain closed when activated until you decide to lower them again. These toggle switches are primarily used to turn something on or off and maintain that state until you return the toggle to its original position. For instance, you can set up an Emergency Shutdown Mode, a Water Change Mode, or even turn on your stand lighting.

The metal buttons (Switch 2 to Switch 5) are momentary switches, which means they are only closed when pressed. You can utilize these with the appropriate Apex code to initiate timed events that revert to normal operation after a specific duration. Examples include timed Feed Mode, a Photo Mode, or activating stand lights for a set number of minutes. The possibilities for customization and coding are truly endless, allowing you to use the momentary button to kickstart your programs.
