Control via Bluetooth via BLE – No more WIFI

The myAI® app allows you to connect your phone to the AI LED using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This feature makes it easy to set up and program schedules and settings. The Prime HD will be replaced with the Prime 16HD. You can expect more color, more spread, more power, and a more refined design, all while preserving the qualities that made AI lights exceptional. The best part is that both the new Prime and Hydra models are available at the same price as the current 26, 52, and Primes (Please note that US MRP and prices are always subject to change).

The bracket for the 32HD and 64HD on the flex mount will change in the Flex Arm packaging, but the HMS mounting solutions remain the same. Prime mounting solutions are also unchanged.

Design

The redesign of the plastics in the Prime and Hydra lineup has led to two major benefits: improved efficiency and enhanced aesthetics. These efficiency improvements lessen the need for active cooling, resulting in longer component life. The design enhancements have also made the fixtures thinner and less obtrusive above your aquarium.

Resilient

Water resistance is a key advantage in aquarium lighting. While the new Prime and Hydras are not waterproof, design improvements make them more capable of handling the moisture-rich conditions of reef keeping.

Moonlight

A dedicated moonlight LED and channel have been introduced in the new Prime HD, Prime FW, Hydra 32HD, and Hydra 64HD modules. This feature allows for independent moonlighting that simulates the natural lunar color and intensity.

Control

Control of the lights will utilize the existing myAI® app, which is free, straightforward, and quick to program, offering direct BLE connection through your smart device. Additional control options may become available for the new generation Prime and Hydras as time progresses.

Optics and Output

The output in terms of PAR, color mixing, and spread has all been enhanced with the new fixtures. The addition of more LEDs results in a more targeted full spectrum, while TIR lenses shape the light’s output and improve efficiency. The outcome is more vibrant color and a slightly wider output area with higher average PAR. The combination of LED placement and lens geometry minimizes color separation.

HD

AI’s popular HD functionality allows users to route unused power from one color channel to another, and this feature remains a favorite from the previous generation of HD fixtures. As indicated by the new product names (Prime 16HD, Hydra 32HD, and 64HD), all the new HD lights retain this exciting capability.

Mounting

The mounting hardware previously available for Hydra and Prime fixtures will also work with the new versions. However, the Hydra Flex arm will require a different light bracket due to size differences in the new fixtures. The Flex arm bracket will be updated with the new fixtures, and older flex arms used to mount the new lights will need a new light bracket.
