After each test, rinse the test tube with water immediately to prevent the reagents from sticking to the sides, which could lead to staining over time. Open the cap gently (do not twist) and allow water to dilute and rinse out the contents. Take care to avoid contact between the contents and your skin.

If reagent is left in the test tube for an extended period and staining occurs, gently clean the inside with a small bottle brush and some API Safe & Easy cleaning spray. Avoid soap, as residue could be harmful to fish if introduced back into the aquarium.
