AquaForest Hybrid Pro Salt
Introducing Hybrid Pro Salt; the most advanced reef salt yet. After years of observing reef tanks thrive on either natural seawater (NSW) or chemically pure laboratory-made salt, we aimed to create a Hybrid Pro Salt formula that combines the benefits of both salts. This is designed specifically for our delicate reef inhabitants and modern aquarists who are looking for more natural, probiotic-enriched reefing methods.
Our team of chemists and biologists collected various water samples from thriving reefs in Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, and Fiji. They carefully analyzed the ICP results of these established coral reef habitats to establish parameters that meet the needs of even the most demanding corals. Unlike the ocean, an aquarium is a closed ecosystem where not all elements are consumed evenly. To address the differences in absorption, we increased the levels of commonly consumed micronutrients and trace elements, such as strontium and iodine, for improved stability.
What makes Hybrid Pro Salt unique?
- Hybrid Pro Salt combines chemically pure, laboratory-made salt with natural sea salt flakes sourced from the cleanest waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.
- It features a proprietary blend of probiotic bacteria that helps reduce nitrate and phosphate levels while enhancing color intensity and growth potential, which are often hindered by high phosphate levels.
- This formula contains a variety of micro and macro trace elements, enriched with top-quality amino acids and vitamins that support immunity and natural metabolic functions.
This new Hybrid Pro Salt formula creates conditions that closely resemble those found in natural seawater, with the added benefit of probiotics to maintain a healthy microbiological balance while safely lowering nitrate and phosphate levels.
Dosage and storage
- For optimal results, dissolve Hybrid Pro Salt in RODI water at a temperature of 24-25°C (75-77°F) at a salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.).
- Mix 390 grams of salt into 10 liters (2.19 US gallons) of RODI water.
- Mix for about 15 minutes. Once fully dissolved, the saltwater is ready for immediate use.
- Use the dissolved salt within 3 days. Evaporation can alter the water parameters, so it is important to keep the prepared saltwater tightly closed. If stored for several days, please check its salinity before use.
- Store salt in a dry, humidity-free, and dark place.
- A safety data sheet is available upon request.
TIPS
- We recommend maintaining dKH levels between 7.5-8.5 to support the reproduction of probiotic bacteria. Levels that are too high or too low may reduce bacterial activity.
- When setting up new aquariums, introduce the first fish or corals no earlier than 10-14 days after the tank has been established and the water parameters have stabilized.
