Aquaforest Iodum Lab 1L is crucial for general cell functioning and the transfer of nutrients between them
Aquaforest Iodum Lab 1L is a supplement that contains concentrated iodine. In marine aquariums, iodine plays a vital role in general cell functioning and nutrient transfer among cells. Since tank inhabitants continually consume iodine, its levels can quickly decline without proper supplementation.
Iodine is essential for corals as they use it to synthesize pigments that help them adapt to changing lighting conditions and protect their delicate tissues from harmful UV radiation. Additionally, iodine enhances the dark blue and purple coloration of hard corals. Maintaining appropriate iodine levels in a seawater tank is also important for supporting shrimp molting.
Regularly dosing Iodum helps keep iodine concentrations consistent with those found in natural seawater.
Dosage: 10 ml of the product raises the iodine level by 100 μg/l in 100 litres (27 US gal) of water. The recommended iodine level in aquarium water is between 0.05 – 0.07 mg/l (ppm).
Recommended dosage: 1 ml/100 l (27 US gal) of water daily. It is important to base the dosage on the consumption of microelements. Keep in mind that each aquarium is unique, and the final dosage will depend on the coral cast and specific needs of your aquarium. Both deficiencies and excesses of micronutrients can impact the health of your aquarium inhabitants, so it is crucial to adjust the dosage based on regular Aquaforest Lab water tests.
