Aquaforest Kh Buffer 1200g for maintaining constant carbonate hardness level in reef aquariums
Aquaforest Kh Buffer is an excellent choice for keeping the carbonate hardness levels consistent in your reef aquarium. Maintaining the right carbonate hardness is crucial for stabilizing pH levels. A sudden drop in carbonate concentration can disrupt the nitrification process entirely.
The recommended level of KH in reef aquariums is between 6.5 and 8.5 dKH.
Dosage: To prepare the solution, dissolve 80 g of KH Buffer in 1000 ml of RODI water. The amount you need to use should be based on your water test results and the daily consumption of your corals. Before adding the KH Buffer solution to your aquarium, it is a good idea to perform a water test to check the current parameters.
Maximum daily dose: You should use 20 ml of the solution per 100 litres of water. This amount will raise the KH level in 100 litres of water by 0.5 dKH. The product can also be used casually for one-time adjustments to KH levels. For instance, 10 g of KH Buffer in 100 litres of water will increase the KH level by about 3.3 dKH (Alk. 1.18 meg/l).
We do not recommend increasing the KH level by more than 0.5 dKH per day. To maintain ionic balance, it is important to also apply Calcium, Magnesium, and Reef Mineral Salt.
This product contains NaHCO3, ensuring you have the best support for your aquarium’s needs.
