D-D AquaScape Aquarium EPOXY Grey is a two-part epoxy putty for use in salt water and freshwater aquariums
Aquascape is a specially formulated two-part epoxy putty created by D-D for both saltwater and freshwater aquariums, along with various underwater applications. In marine setups, it is perfect for bonding live rock to create intricate structures, helping to prevent rock falls caused by turbo snails, sea urchins, and strong currents. It is also useful for preparing coral frags and making clam bases to protect them from bristle worms.
Moreover, Aquascape can be employed to fix leaking pipes, repair broken equipment, or bond items to aquarium glass. This product has been designed to be stickier than most epoxies, allowing it to bond more easily to wet surfaces. The purple variant dries underwater to match the color of coralline algae, enhancing the natural appearance of your marine aquarium during the time before it becomes encrusted with true coralline algae. However, it is important to note that when cured out of the water, it will take on a darker shade resembling deep red coralline algae.
For freshwater aquariums and for repairs to liners or preformed ponds, the Rock Grey version is likely a better choice, but both colors are versatile enough to be used in any environment.

Applications for Aquascape in a Marine Aquarium
Coral Fragging and Propagation
Aquascape is excellent for working with coral frags. It can effectively secure corals to frag bases or directly to rocks and is easily overgrown by corals or coralline algae. When positioning large corals, we recommend applying Aquascape to the coral and rinsing it gently in a container of tank water to remove any residues prior to placing it in position.
Note: It is essential to support heavy rocks, corals, and overhangs until the putty sets.
Clam Protection
Clams are particularly vulnerable to attacks from bristle worms, especially when situated on sandy or gravel substrates. If you have experienced clam losses in the past, this might be the reason, as bristle worms tend to attack the base of the clam at night, gradually consuming it from the inside. By shaping an Aquascape base to fit the individual clam before placing it inside the aquarium, the clam will adhere to the Aquascape base, providing protection from potential attacks.
Rock Structures
Snails, fish, and urchins can cause rocks and corals to shift or overturn in the aquarium. Therefore, it is always advisable to bond rock structures and corals together to prevent rockslides and damage to your setup. Blobs of Aquascape can also be applied to form feet at the base of foundation rocks, enhancing stability and preventing the development of anoxic areas by lifting the rock off the substrate.
