Coral Essentials Carbonate Part B – 500ml
Coral Essentials Carbonate Part B is a concentrated liquid solution containing carbonate and bicarbonate salts, with a concentration of 200,000 ppm (mg/L) or 11,200 dKH. Carbonate plays a crucial role in the formation of calcium carbonate skeletons, which is essential for coral growth.
It is important to regularly check the alkalinity levels in marine tanks to monitor the carbonate uptake in your system. You can determine how much carbonate is being utilized by conducting tests at regular intervals to observe the drop in the KH level. This information allows for easy calculation of dosing requirements to match the depletion rate.
Once you have established the necessary dosing, do not forget to check the KH levels regularly. Keep in mind that your tank will evolve over time as corals grow and new pieces, along with invertebrates that also utilize carbonate, are added.
We have found that ideal KH levels are around 8-9 dKH for most aquariums. If you aim to maintain high growth rates in a system dominated by SPS and hard corals, levels of 8.5 – 9.0 dKH are particularly desirable.
Dosage rate: 5ml of Coral Essentials Carbonate Part B will raise the alkalinity by 10 ppm (0.56 dKH) for every 100 liters of tank water.
