Deltec 1500i protein skimmer is suitable for a 1000 to 1500 liter aquarium

The Deltec Skimmer 1500i features a newly developed emergency overflow system. This innovative design prevents the skimmer from “boiling over” when the water level inside suddenly rises, which can happen if the delivery pump stops, causing the water level in the sump to increase.

Emergency Overflow Pipe and Controller Pipe: The water level in the Deltec Skimmer 1500i is easily monitored via the emergency overflow. The minimum and maximum indicators on the skimmer allow for simple optimization of the water level. Additionally, users can swap the emergency overflow with the controller tube, giving them flexibility in how the pipes are arranged.

Pump

The Deltec Skimmer 1500i is powered by the Deltec pump DCC3. This 24 V DC pump can be adjusted using a controller with 8 positions, allowing for optimal customization based on the water level and load. At the ideal level 6, which is suitable for most aquariums, the pump only consumes 22 watts while drawing in approximately 1000 liters of air.

The Ergonomic Cylinder Shape

Thanks to its ergonomic cylindrical design, the Deltec Skimmer 1500i delivers outstanding skimming performance. The shape allows small air bubbles to rise freely, ensuring they become fully saturated and only burst in the skimmer cup riser. This design enables the skimming waste to be drained via a hose without needing to lower the foam bowl.

Hollow Room Bottom

Another exciting feature of the Deltec Skimmer 1500i is its hollow room bottom, which significantly reduces noise, making this already quiet skimmer whisper-quiet. Furthermore, the water flows back through this hollow chamber floor into the aquarium, enhancing overall efficiency.

Disassembly, Dimensions, and Construction

Cleaning the pump is a breeze thanks to the skimmer’s quick disassembly feature. The Deltec Skimmer 1500i can be taken apart and reassembled without the need for tools. Tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in under 20 seconds. The dimensions of the Deltec Skimmer 1500i are designed for easy placement in a sump, and its large cylindrical volume requires only a small base area.
