With the addition of 395nm diodes, the G6 dives deeper into the UV spectrum, achieving an unprecedented level of coral and fish fluorescence. Both the Blue and Pro models also come with color channel rebalancing and an LED (diode) mix that enhances the most flexible and balanced spectra available in aquarium lighting.

Anatomy of the G6 Spectrum

• 395nm: Unlocks extra fluorescence in fish and corals.
• 400-450nm: Rebalancing the cluster with more blue and deep blue enhances fluorescence, color rendering, and offers a new level of tunability in the blue spectrum between clear and actinic.
• 460-580nm: Reducing the spectral output in the mid-range preserves color expression in pigmentation while allowing for more wattage to be used for photosynthetically beneficial and visually appealing output.
• 665nm: Proper use of long wavelength diodes provides light output useful for coral photosynthesis and visual color balance.

The Radion G6 boosts output from an impressive 110.5 degrees in the G5 to an astounding 126.3 degrees. This enhancement was made possible by changing the primary optic on the LEDs, which integrates seamlessly with the geometry of the existing HEI (Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) secondary optic (lens).

Radion proves to be a winner in the cost/output comparison. The optical HEI2 system delivers an output of 126.3 degrees. The result is incredibly even PAR over a coverage area of nearly 1.2m, making it the highest average output Radion and arguably the most efficient aquarium lamp ever created.
