Grotech Basic Set Mineral
The Grotech Basic Set Mineral Set includes 1x Dose Carbonate – 1000g, Calcium 750g, and Mineral Pro Instant 1000g.
Application of the Balling system with Grotech Carbonate, Calcium, Mineral, and Magnesium Pro Instant. The Grotech Balling System, when applied correctly, meets the needs of your marine water aquarium by providing essential macro elements like carbonate, calcium, and magnesium. Therefore, there is no need to use a calcium reactor.
The Grotech Balling System contains Grotech Carbonate, Calcium, Mineral, and Magnesium Pro Instant. When used properly, it fully satisfies the requirements for carbonate hardness, calcium, and magnesium in your marine aquarium. These elements are consumed by healthy coral growth and must be consistently replenished in the right amounts.
Procedure:
- Monitor your kH value over several days to gauge the daily consumption of your aquarium.
- Calculate the amount of carbonate to be dosed per instant Balling solution.
- We have provided a free calculator for this purpose at https://www.calculator.grotech.de.
- Administer this amount over several days and verify if the addition is sufficient to maintain a stable kH value in your reef aquarium. The target kH value should be between °dkH 7 and °dkH 10.
- Simultaneously, the Calcium and Mineral Pro Instant Balling solutions should be dosed in the same amounts as the carbonate per instant Balling solution.
- If needed, adjust the daily dosage accordingly.
Typically, the consumption rates for Carbonate, Calcium, and Mineral Pro Instant Balling solutions are similar. This means that the three solutions should be dosed in equal parts, aligned with the calculated consumption of the kH solution. Ideally, the dosage should be spread out in smaller portions throughout the day. GROTECH dosing pumps are perfect for this task. However, it is wise to check periodically and adjust the quantities of the individual solutions if necessary.
The Mineral Pro Instant Balling solution has a high magnesium content and generally meets the magnesium needs of the aquarium. Additionally, using Mineral Pro Instant can extend the interval between water changes, as it compensates for any ion shifts. If a magnesium deficiency is still detected, a separate solution from the fourth component, Magnesium Pro Instant, can be prepared and dosed according to your requirements.
Mineral Pro Instant 1000g
Sodium Chloride Free Marine Salt / Mineral Salt for Reverse Osmosis Water Marine salt primarily consists of approximately 78% common salt (NaCl2). Using the Balling method not only adds calcium but also introduces a significant amount of common salt, leading to its accumulation in the seawater aquarium. The addition of Mineral Pro Instant compensates for this and ensures a balanced ion balance.
Mixing a Balling-Basic Solution: Measure 25g of Mineral Pro Instant in a measuring cap and add reverse osmosis water to reach 1000ml. The Balling stock solutions of Carbonate, Calcium, Magnesium, and Mineral Pro Instant must be dosed in equal parts, and separately from each other!
Due to its high magnesium, mineral, and trace element content, Mineral Pro Instant is also suitable for the hardening and mineralization of freshwater, as well as for the remineralization of reverse osmosis water. Adding 1 tablespoon of Mineral Pro Instant per 10 liters of reverse osmosis water will remineralize it, returning vital minerals and trace elements to the demineralized water.
Calcium Pro Instant 750g
In a marine water aquarium, significant amounts of calcium and magnesium are required. Calcium Pro Instant is a ready-to-use calcium mixture that can either be used to create a basic solution or added directly into the aquarium.
Mixing a Balling-Basic Solution: Measure 54g of Calcium Pro Instant in a measuring cap and add reverse osmosis water to reach 1000ml. The Balling stock solutions of Carbonate, Calcium, Magnesium, and Mineral Pro Instant must be dosed in equal parts, and separately from each other!
Mixing a Basic Solution: Measure 750g of Calcium Pro Instant in a measuring cap and add reverse osmosis water to reach 2000ml. This solution contains 135,000 mg/L of Calcium (Ca). By adding 7.4 ml of this basic solution, the Ca content will increase by approximately 10 mg per 100 liters of aquarium water. Refer to the dosage table for specifics! Please note that during dissolution, the solution will become very hot. Ensure you use a suitable plastic container.
Direct Dosing: One measuring spoon (approximately 6.5g) will result in an increase of the calcium content by approximately 24mg/L per 100 liters of aquarium water. If there are larger discrepancies, the quantity should be increased gradually over several days. Please dose directly into the filter area at a well-oxygenated spot.
When using Calcium Pro Instant in the aquarium, please regularly check the calcium content of the aquarium water. The optimal value is around 380-450mg/L.
Carbonate Pro Instant 1000g
Immediately Available Carbonate Hardness + pH Buffer The stability of the pH value in a marine water aquarium is crucial. Carbonate Pro Instant is a special buffer and carbonate hardness (kH) builder that helps stabilize the pH value between 8.0 and 8.3, replacing carbonate hardness that has been depleted due to precipitation and biological processes. Carbonate Pro Instant thus protects against harmful pH fluctuations. In a reef aquarium, the ideal kH value is about 7 – 10° kH.
Carbonate Pro Instant can be used to mix a basic solution or added directly into the aquarium.
Mixing a Balling-Basic Solution: Measure 84g of Carbonate Pro Instant in a measuring cap and add reverse osmosis water to reach 1000ml. The Balling stock solutions of Carbonate, Calcium, Magnesium, and Mineral Pro Instant must be dosed in equal parts, and separately from each other!
Mixing a Basic Solution: Measure 168g of Carbonate Pro Instant in a measuring cap and add reverse osmosis water to reach 2000ml. By adding 36ml of this basic solution, the kH content will increase by approximately 1°dKH per 100 liters of aquarium water. Refer to the dosage table for details!
Direct Dosing: One measuring spoon (approximately 9g) will result in an increase of the carbonate hardness by approximately 3°dKH per liter for every 100 liters of aquarium water. If there are larger discrepancies, the quantity should be increased gradually over several days. Please dose directly into the filter area at a well-oxygenated spot.
