First, you will need to measure the magnesium level in your aquarium. For example, if your current magnesium level is 1200 mg/l and you would like to increase it to 1300 mg/l in a 500-liter aquarium, here is how you can calculate it:

• Desired Mg value – Measured value = Deficit in mg/l: 1300 mg/l – 1200 mg/l = 100 mg/l
