MarinLab 1 test envelop
The AquaForest MarinLab 1 test envelop utilizes the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP-OES) method to analyze sea water. The sample provided is plasma sprayed at 8 °C. The substances to be analyzed are quantified using an optical emission spectrometer (OES). This test offers analysis for a wide range of macro and trace elements that are essential for the health of your reef aquarium, including:

MarinLab offers two test kits: one with a single tube for aquarium water, and another with two tubes—one for aquarium water and another for your reverse osmosis (RO) water.
Marinlab kit content
- A plastic envelope that contains everything needed for the analysis. Please open it gently, as it will also be used for shipping the test. The shipping address is already included (please note that shipping costs to the lab are not included).
- One labeled plastic tube with a cap.
- An explanatory sheet.
Steps for using the Marinlab analysis kit
Once you purchase the MarinLab kit (the price includes the cost of the tests), please follow these steps:
- Create an account online at http://marinlab.com (make sure to select either English or Polish). You will receive a confirmation email before your first login.
- Rinse the tubes twice in the aquarium you wish to test, then fill the tube with salt water. Make sure to securely close the tube with the provided cap.
- In your MarinLab online account, enter the number on the tube (select “Add new sample”) after creating your ‘aquarium’ (select “Add new tank”).
- Place the sample tube in the envelope and affix postage before shipping.
- You will receive an email once the test is complete. Log in to your account to view and retrieve your results.
Delays between sending and receiving results
- It typically takes about 10 days from the time you mail the box until you receive an email regarding the analysis availability.
The results
Once you receive the availability email, you can log in to the MarinLab website. If you have previously conducted analyses with MarinLab, you will have access to your history and will be able to select the test you wish to view.
