MarinLab 2 test envelop including test for RO-water
Marinlab utilizes the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP-OES) method for analyzing seawater. The sample provided is plasma sprayed at 8 °C. The substances that will be analyzed are quantified using an optical emission spectrometer (OES). This method offers analysis for many macro and trace elements that are essential for the health of your reef aquarium, including:

There are two test kits available at Marinlab: one is a single tube for aquarium water, and the other includes two tubes—one for aquarium water and another for your RO water.
Marinlab kit content
- A plastic envelope designed for shipping the test. Please open it gently, as it already contains the shipping address.
- One plastic tube with a cap, labeled with a number.
- An explanatory sheet.
Steps for using the Marinlab analysis kit
Once you purchase the Marinlab kit (which includes the cost of the tests), please follow these steps:
- Create an account online at http://marinlab.com (select either the English or Polish language). You will receive a confirmation email prior to your first login.
- Rinse the tubes twice in the aquarium you wish to test and fill the tube with saltwater. Ensure that the tube is tightly closed with the supplied cap.
- In your Marinlab online account, enter the number on the tube (Add new sample) after creating your ‘aquarium’ (Add new tank).
- Place the sample tube in the envelope and ensure proper postage before shipping.
- You will receive an email when the test is complete. Log in to your account to view and download the results.
Delays between sending and results during this test
- Between mailing the box and receiving an email for analysis availability: approximately 10 days.
The results
Once you receive the availability email, you can log onto the Marinlab website. If you have previously conducted analyses with Marinlab, you will have access to your history and will be able to select the test results.
