Each bio-block boasts an impressive surface area of 1,080 m² (11,635 ft²), providing ample space for bacterial colonies, which is equivalent to about 10 kg of live rock. You can cultivate various types of beneficial bacteria and fungi, including nitrifying bacteria, yeasts, and phototrophic prokaryotes, all thanks to the extensive surface area of the Bio Blocks.

These nano-tech bio-media from Maxspect are made from 100% small ceramic beads that are completely inert. Each ceramic bead offers a surface area of 2.45 cm², allowing each block to provide a total area exceeding 1,080 m² (11,635 ft²), also roughly equivalent to about 10 kg of live rock.
