MICROBE-LIFT Gravel & Substrate Cleaner enhances the biological breakdown of slow-degrading organic waste at the bottom of your aquarium, preventing toxicity to fish and plant life. As organic solids gather on the aquarium floor, they start to break down, emitting harmful gases and by-products into the water. This can pose risks to fish, marine organisms, and plants.

Our cleaner effectively biologically degrades bottom organic sludge and muck with minimal disturbance, significantly reducing or eliminating harmful gaseous compounds. It also helps to clarify your aquarium water simultaneously.

MICROBE-LIFT Gravel & Substrate Cleaner is made with natural cellulosic matter, selected biological accelerators, and unique microbes that have been proven to assist in reducing aquarium sludge. It will also help to clear up murky water.

This product is recommended for use alongside all MICROBE-LIFT bacteria and enzyme products. Please note that MICROBE-LIFT Gravel & Substrate Cleaner may temporarily discolor your aquarium water for 48 to 96 hours after application. Since the product is black, it may slightly tint your water, but there is no need for concern. The active ingredient is natural and will ultimately clarify the water while digesting organics in the aquarium.

Directions

For substrates with 0.65 cm (1/4 inch) or more of solid buildup, apply 2 tsp. (10 mL) of MICROBE-LIFT Gravel & Substrate Cleaner per 10 gallons (38 L) of tank water.

Here are some dosage examples:

• Tank Size: 225 liters (60 gallons) – Dosage: 12 tsp. (4 tbsp. / 60 mL)
• Tank Size: 285 liters (75 gallons) – Dosage: 15 tsp. (5 tbsp. / 75 mL)

Use as directed every other week until the substrate is clean, then follow the Substrate Maintenance dosage schedule below.

Substrate Maintenance – For substrates with less than 0.65 cm (1/4 inch) of solid buildup, apply 1 tsp. (5 mL) of MICROBE-LIFT Gravel & Substrate Cleaner per 10 gallons (38 L) of tank water.

Here are some maintenance dosage examples:

• Tank Size: 225 liters (60 gallons) – Dosage: 6 tsp. (2 tbsp. / 30 mL)
• Tank Size: 285 liters (75 gallons) – Dosage: 7 1/2 tsp. (2 1/2 tbsp. / 37 mL)

Use as directed monthly. If the buildup exceeds 1/4 inch, please follow the Substrate Cleaning dosage schedule.
