MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner enhances the biological breakdown of organic waste that may accumulate at the bottom of your aquarium, which can become toxic for fish and plants.

As organic solids build up, they begin to decompose, releasing harmful gases and by-products into the water. These gases can pose a risk to fish, marine life, and aquatic plants.

MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner effectively biologically degrades the sludge and muck on the bottom, minimizing disturbance and reducing or eliminating potentially harmful gases. It also helps to clarify your aquarium water.

This product contains natural cellulosic matter, selected biological accelerators, and special microbes that are proven effective in reducing aquarium sludge.

MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner will also assist in clarifying murky aquarium water. It is recommended for use with all MICROBE-LIFT bacteria and enzyme products.

Do keep in mind that MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner may temporarily discolor your aquarium water for 48 to 96 hours after application.

This product is black in color and may slightly tint your aquarium water. Do not worry; the active ingredient is natural and will help clarify the water while digesting organic material.

Directions:
For substrates with 0.65 cm (1/4 inch) or more of solid buildup, apply 2 tsp. (10 mL) of MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner for every 10 gallons (38 L) of tank water.
Here are some examples:

Tank Size Dosage
225 liters (60 gallons): 12 tsp. (4 tbsp. / 60 mL)
285 liters (75 gallons): 15 tsp. (5 tbsp. / 75 mL)

Use as directed every other week until the substrate is clean, then follow the substrate maintenance dosage schedule below.

Substrate Maintenance: For substrate with less than 0.65 cm (1/4 inch) of solid buildup, apply 1 tsp. (5 mL) of MICROBE-LIFT/Gravel & Substrate Cleaner for every 10 gallons (38 L) of tank water.
Examples include:

Tank Size Dosage
225 liters (60 gallons): 6 tsp. (2 tbsp. / 30 mL)
285 liters (75 gallons): 7 1/2 tsp. (2 1/2 tbsp. / 37 mL)

Use as directed monthly. If the buildup exceeds 1/4 inch, please follow the substrate cleaning dosage schedule.
