Ocean Art Reef Fuel to reduce phosphate and nitrate in your reeftank
Reef FUEL is a highly effective blend of organic ingredients, recognized for having one of the highest energy densities found in nature. This organic mixture includes hydrolyzed vegetable oil, alcohols, saccharides, fatty acids, and triglycerides. A new and unique addition is adenosine, which is one of the most crucial energetic molecules. It is part of ATP, ADP, and various coenzymes, playing an essential role in biochemical processes.
With unprecedented power and developed using the latest knowledge and technology, Reef FUEL continues to impress us with its capabilities. Supported by microorganisms, Reef FUEL is our top choice for reducing phosphate and nitrate levels. This product features two groups of microorganisms, each selected for their rapid adaptation (LOG phase) and quick growth (Lag Phase).
NOX MICROORGANISMS
- Nitrate → Nitrogen gas
- Nitrate → Protein
- Protein → Cell walls
- Ammonia → Nitrate
This NOX group is chosen for its ability to swiftly form a community that utilizes nitrate to build proteins and construct their cell walls. They can utilize various nitrogen compounds, and if conditions are favorable, they are quite efficient at converting NO3 into nitrogen gas (N), effectively removing it from the environment. This process can occur in areas with adequate flow but limited oxygen, such as coarse substrates of at least 2 cm or filter materials that can maintain both oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor environments (not anaerobic). You may notice nitrogen bubbles forming and rising or occasionally escaping from the pump.
PO4 MICROORGANISMS
- Phosphate → ATP
- Phosphate → Cellular reserve
- Phosphate → Phospholipids
- Phosphate → Polyphosphates
This group of PO4 microorganisms has been selected for its ability to store phosphate surplus and utilize it in cellular metabolism. These beneficial bacteria can maintain reserves for several months, creating a balance typically seen only in natural environments. Both groups do not produce toxins, whether in life or death, and they serve as a welcome food source for corals.
Recommended dosage for Reef Fuel: +/- 1ml per 100 L per day, adjusting as necessary.
Target values: No3 1-10ppm and Po4 0.02-0.10ppm. Without phosphate, nitrate absorption will not occur, and vice versa; nitrate levels also influence phosphate absorption.
Note: This product may cause a bacterial bloom. If a bloom occurs, please discontinue the dosage and ensure that the aquarium is well-aerated.
