Orca Labs Nitra-Guard Bio-Cubes V15 remove nitrates and phosphates and can be used in marine and freshwater systems
The BIO-Cubes are designed to reduce nitrates when phosphate is present. If phosphate levels are at zero, nitrate removal will be minimal. However, the BIO-Cubes Titanium can effectively lower nitrates even when phosphate is absent.
Made from 100% biodegradable polymers, BIO-Cubes are highly effective in removing nitrates and phosphates. They are suitable for both marine and freshwater systems. With a very large surface area, BIO-Cubes contain 400% more carbohydrates than any other brand, making them the leading product of their kind worldwide.
These cubes are extremely versatile and can be utilized in filter bags, fluidized bed filters, and denitrators. They require no maintenance or additional nutritional dosages, which makes them the simplest and most convenient solution for nitrate and phosphate removal available on the market. Plus, each pot of Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes comes with a free filter bag.
How does it all work?
Bacteria thrive on the high carbohydrate source found in the BIO-Cubes, forming a biomass that absorbs nitrates and phosphates from the aquarium water. This biomass can then be skimmed off using a protein skimmer or consumed as food by corals.
When cultivating bacteria, the two key factors influencing the colony size are the surface area and the food source. BIO-Cubes resemble small sponges with open cells, providing an extensive surface area. Additionally, they contain 400% more biologically available, insoluble polymer carbohydrates than any other product available globally.
These two factors create ideal conditions for developing and maintaining large bacterial colonies, which are essential for effectively removing phosphates and nitrates from aquariums. Independent tests conducted in real-world settings demonstrated that BIO-Cubes could reduce nitrates from 60 ppm to 5 ppm in less than two weeks, while competing products often claim to begin working only after two weeks!
Instructions
The amount needed depends on the stocking density and food added to the aquarium. For heavily populated aquariums, use 3 ml per 1 liter of aquarium water. For those with lighter occupancy, add 1 ml for every 1 liter of aquarium water.
When using BIO-Cubes in a filter bag or reactor, position them near the protein skimmer to expedite the removal of nitrate and phosphate-rich biomass. After 1 to 2 weeks, the bacteria colonies will become sufficiently productive to lower nitrate levels in your aquarium. If nitrate and phosphate levels are initially high, some turbidity may occur, but this will clear up after a few days.
Do soak BIO-Cubes in fresh water for 24 hours before use.
