Orca Labs Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes V15 removes PO4, but must be used with the other Bio-cubes
Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes is the world’s first solid carbohydrate-based phosphate remover designed to naturally eliminate phosphate from both freshwater and seawater. Unlike other products that rely on heavy metals, Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes utilizes Redfield’s Ratio for phosphate removal. This all-natural approach offers significantly better performance than competing products. Unlike pellets, Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes acts as a “point-of-source” treatment, helping to prevent system crashes.
The biomass produced by Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes does not contain ferric oxide or hydroxide and is completely non-toxic. In fact, the biomass generated by the heterotrophic bacteria serves as an excellent source of nutrition for corals and other filter feeders, such as clams. Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes requires minimal maintenance and does not need an expensive fluidized media reactor to function.
Before installing your Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes, please note that it must be used in conjunction with either Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes Original or Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes Titanium at a ratio of 3ml per litre of aquarium water. It is important to allow the Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes Original or Titanium to fully mature, which takes approximately 12 to 14 days, ensuring that Nitrate levels are undetectable.
For systems with heavy organic waste, it is essential to clean thoroughly, particularly the gravel beds (including areas under the rocks) and the filters. Deep Sand Beds (DSB) can also contribute to phosphate levels when overloaded with organic waste, so regular cleaning is advisable. Additionally, live rock that has not been properly cured may leach significant amounts of phosphate. We suggest using the “Water Washer” by MAELSTROM Aquatic Systems for a thorough aquarium cleaning. This tool allows you to achieve a spotless aquarium without the need for large water changes, effectively removing organic waste, green and brown slime algae, and cyanobacteria.
Directions for Use:
- For low phosphate levels (below 0.75ppm), add 0.5ml per litre.
- For high phosphate levels (above 0.75ppm), add 1ml per litre of aquarium water.
- For very high phosphate levels (above 2ppm), it is recommended to use Phospha-Guard GFH DARK-ICE instead.
You can add Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes alongside the Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes Original or Titanium in the same media bag. The BIO-Cubes will mature in about 12 to 14 days. If necessary, you may increase the dosage by 0.50ml every 10 to 14 days. Once you achieve the desired phosphate level, simply maintain the Phospha-Guard BIO-Cubes levels as needed.
