Original Balling Components Part A – 1 kg
Tropic Marin® Original Balling Components are designed to create the ideal conditions for coral growth. These components consist of three separate salt mixtures used in the Balling method, allowing you to dose calcium and carbonates according to the specific needs of your aquarium. The method includes calcium chloride dihydrate (Part A) and sodium carbonate/sodium bicarbonate (Part B). Meanwhile, sodium chloride-free sea salt (Part C) helps maintain the essential ionic balance in your aquarium water. This careful calcium dosing fosters optimal growth for corals and coralline algae, while also preventing the decline of important elements commonly seen with two-part methods.
Benefits:
- Highly efficient calcium supply using the Balling method.
- Maintains ionic equilibrium.
- All components are available separately in packs of 1 kg (35.3 oz) or as a set (3 x 1 kg).
- The three powdered salt mixtures A, B, and C are dissolved in water separately.
- The resulting solutions can be added to the tank directly or via a dosing pump.
- Contains all 70 trace elements found in natural sea water.
- No unnatural by-products.
- Free from phosphates and other pollutants.
The Tropic Marin® Original Components include:
- Part A: Calcium chloride dihydrate (20,000 ppm Ca)
- Part B: Sodium carbonate/sodium bicarbonate (2,800 °dH/l)
- Part C: Sodium chloride-free sea salt (~ 3,350 ppm Mg; ~ 980 ppm K)
How to Use:
Dissolve the specified quantities of the salts separately in individual containers of reverse osmosis water, as indicated below. Once prepared, the solutions are ready for use. You can dose equal quantities of each solution daily or adjust the amounts of each to reach the desired levels in your aquarium. These solutions are very stable and can be stored indefinitely. By using highly purified pharmaceutical-grade salts, you ensure that the resulting solutions are clear and pure.
Dosage:
Using 30 ml (1 fl. oz) of each solution will raise the calcium concentration of 35 L (10 US gal) by 15 mg/l (ppm) calcium and 2.2 °dH. The maximum recommended dose is 60 ml (2 fl. oz) of each solution per 35 L (10 US gal) per day.
