Seachem StressGuard 250ml will reduce stress and ammonia toxicity whenever handling or transporting fish
StressGuard™ is the ultimate slime coat protection solution. It effectively reduces stress and ammonia toxicity during the handling or transportation of fish. This product binds to exposed proteins in wounds, promoting healing for injured fish and minimizing the chances of both primary and secondary infections. StressGuard™ is compatible with all medications, with the exception of those that are copper-based. Additionally, it is not amine-based and will not interfere with Purigen® or HyperSorb™ regeneration. Unlike competing “slime coat” products, StressGuard™ does not coat resins or clog filtration systems.
Why It Is Different
What sets StressGuard™ apart in the healing process is its inclusion of protein active colloids. These colloids actively seek out wounds, abrasions, or areas with exposed proteins and attach to them, helping to deliver the disinfectant directly and kickstart the healing process. By binding to exposed proteins, this colloidal agent acts like a liquid bandage for abrasions. Some products are marketed to be squirted into the bag when purchasing a fish, but these are often acidic, with some brands being quite harsh. Introducing such a product into a small, enclosed environment with a fish can cause more harm than good. StressGuard™ maintains a pH of 7.0, ensuring it does not alter the pH of an aquarium, even when used in larger doses. There are no products on the market that can match the effectiveness of StressGuard™.
Directions
Use 1/2 to 1 capful (2.5 to 5 mL) for every 40 L (10 gallons*) daily until signs of stress have diminished or healing is complete. It is safe to double the dose if necessary.
