Theiling Rollermat filter

The Theiling Rollermat filter is an automatic mechanical filter designed for both fresh and saltwater aquariums, as well as garden ponds. Water that is polluted passes through the filter fleece and enters the drum, from which it flows back into the filter sump. When the fleece becomes loaded with dirt, the flow decreases and the water level outside the drum rises. Once it reaches a certain level, a level switch activates the motor, causing the drum to rotate and a fresh section of fleece to be loaded automatically. This process typically takes about 4 to 6 months, depending on the waste production in your system, until the fleece is completely utilized and needs to be replaced.

The fleece itself is very fine, effectively removing even the smallest particles. By filtering out dirt before it can be metabolized biologically, it helps relieve the biofilter and protein skimmer in seawater setups. The tiny pores in the fleece are also capable of retaining many protozoa, such as fish parasites in both fresh and saltwater, ensuring they cannot pass through the fleece. This feature is quite unique.

When the accepting roll is full or the releasing roll is empty, it can be easily removed from the filter. Both components are separable, allowing you to discard the fleece without any hassle.
