The phosphates bond so strongly with the Elimi-Phos granules that they will not be released, even after the granules reach their full adsorption capacity. This product efficiently reduces phosphate levels in your tank, and Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife maintains its phosphate-removing properties for an extended period.

In addition to effectively removing phosphates, Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos and Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife can replace activated carbon, enhancing the overall water quality of your aquarium.

Even with these products, Tropic Marin still recommends performing periodic water changes to prevent the accumulation of undesirable compounds. Regular use of Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos will also help maintain the highest water quality in your aquarium.

Application & Dosage

For optimal results, place 100 g (3.5 oz.) of Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos or Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife per 200 liters (50 US gallons) of total aquarium system water volume into the tank. Position it in the filter or in an area with strong water circulation.

It is advisable to make any changes to your aquarium environment slowly. If your aquarium has a high organic load, start with 100 g (3.5 oz.) of Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos or Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife per 500 liters (130 US gallons) of system volume, and gradually increase to the recommended maximum. This approach allows your more sensitive plants and animals to adapt to the improved water quality.

To ensure the best performance of the granules, mix and rinse them briefly under running water once a week. Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos and Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife can remain in the aquarium even after reaching their adsorption capacity. When the phosphate level begins to rise again, replace the Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos or Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife according to the dosage guidelines mentioned above.
