Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos Rapid is an extremely fast phosphate remover. High levels of phosphates in your aquarium can lead to significant algae growth and may hinder the growth of corals and aquatic plants. Therefore, it is crucial to regularly monitor phosphate levels and keep them within the ideal range for your aquatic life. The optimal phosphate levels in seawater are between 0.02 to 0.15 mg/l, while for reef aquaria, it is between 0.03 to 0.1 mg/l. Phosphate buildup can occur from various sources such as food and supplements, so taking prompt action to lower these levels is sometimes necessary.

Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos Rapid is a highly effective solution that utilizes lanthanum to quickly bind and remove phosphates from the water. As a result, you can efficiently lower the phosphate concentration to a range of 0.2–0.4 mg/l (ppm) in no time.

This product is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquaria.

First, measure the phosphate concentration in your aquarium to determine the amount of Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos Rapid you will need. Adding 10 ml per 100 l / 26 US-gal. of aquarium water can reduce phosphate concentration by up to 1 mg/l (ppm). It is advisable to lower the phosphate concentration by no more than 0.1 mg/l (ppm) per day, which means administering a maximum of 1 ml of Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos Rapid slowly to 100 l / 26 US-gal. of water. Once the phosphate level reaches the target range of 0.2–0.4 mg/l (ppm), consider using the adsorber granules Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife to further decrease the phosphate concentration, keep it stable, and maintain it at a consistently low level.

We recommend the following phosphate concentrations for your aquarium:

• Freshwater: < 0.3–0.5 mg/l (ppm)
• Seawater: 0.02–0.15 mg/l (ppm)
• Reef aquaria: 0.03–0.1 mg/l (ppm)

The phosphate reduction treatment works best in tanks equipped with a skimmer or a mechanical filter, which will effectively remove the flocculated phosphate from the system. A slow, dropwise addition using a dosing pump is the ideal method.

Please keep the following points in mind:

• If you notice any signs of stress in individual organisms, especially corals that are accustomed to higher phosphate levels, you should pause the treatment for 1–2 days or until the symptoms subside, then resume with half the recommended dose.
• Monitor alkalinity, as it may occasionally decrease slightly.
• All organisms require a small amount of phosphate; a level of 0.00 mg/l (ppm) is not advisable for an aquarium. Therefore, do not use Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos Rapid excessively.
