Tropic Marin Reef Snow Natural binding agent consisting of algae for creating reef snow particles
The vibrant biological activity found in healthy coral reefs means that these environments are rich in biopolymer substances. When nutrient particles come into contact with specific bacteria, they create particles that are not only nutritious but also visible to the naked eye. These flakes and filaments are commonly known as reef snow.
Tropic Marin Reef Snow harnesses these natural marine biopolymers. When combined with other feedstuffs, they create nutrient-packed flakes that mimic natural reef snow, which are then offered to corals and other filter feeders. You can adjust the concentration of a Tropic Marin® Reef Snow solution to modify the size of the flakes, making them suitable for the filter feeders in your aquarium.
- Natural source of nutrients for corals and other filter feeders
- Enhances the filterability of the particles for many corals and filter feeders
- Improves nutrient utilization
- Reduces the nutrient content of the water
- Variable flake size
- Larger particles provide healthy feed with a prebiotic effect for fish
- Ideal for binding vitamins and other feed enrichments
Ingredients: algae, alga extract
Application & Dosage: Mix approximately 1.5 measuring spoons of Tropic Marin Reef Snow into 100 ml of reverse osmosis water and allow it to soak for one to two hours while stirring occasionally. After that, mix in the feed or plankton substitute and let it soak for another 30 minutes before distributing it throughout the aquarium.
A prepared Tropic Marin Reef Snow stock solution (without feed/plankton substitute) can be stored at room temperature for up to two weeks. You can change the size of the Tropic Marin Reef Snow particles by adjusting the dosage between 1 and 2 measuring spoons per 100 ml.
We recommend pairing Tropic Marin Reef Snow with the plankton substitutes Tropic Marin Phyton and Tropic Marin Zooton for enhanced results.
