Tropic Marin Sea Salt Classic
From osmosis water to seawater, Tropic Marin® Sea Salt CLASSIC is composed of all macro and trace elements in a natural balance that mirrors the ocean. It is completely free from artificial additives, nitrates, and phosphates. The trace elements are fully soluble within the mixed crystals, and it includes the right amount of bicarbonates to maintain the alkalinity and pH levels in your aquarium.
Tropic Marin® Sea Salt CLASSIC serves as an excellent foundation for nurturing and promoting the growth of all marine organisms in an aquarium. It is suitable for performing regular water changes in your seawater aquarium, starting a new setup, and rebalancing the pH of a tank.
Benefits:
- Creates the perfect environment for all marine organisms, including even the most sensitive species.
- Contains all major and minor elements in the precise proportions found in tropical seawater.
- Helps maintain alkalinity within a 9-10° dKH range.
- Stabilizes pH levels.
- Offers high solubility in water.
- Made with pharmaceutically pure salts, free from nitrate or phosphate additives and other unnatural enhancements.
- Produced from pure, pharmaceutical-grade salts with stringent quality control measures typical for pharmaceutical production.
- Proven effective for many years in zoos, public aquariums, and scientific institutions worldwide.
How to use:
To reach a salinity level of 32-35 ‰ (psu), dissolve 35 ml of Tropic Marin® Sea Salt CLASSIC per liter, or about ½ cup per US gallon of water. Ensure to dissolve almost all the salt in a clean container filled with the full volume of RO/DI water at a temperature of 73-77 °F / 23-25 °C while stirring the water. It is important to avoid concentrating the mixture by adding all the salt to a smaller volume of water.
Note: Always add the salt to the water, never the other way around. Creating a concentrated mixture can lead to calcium carbonate precipitation.
After nearly all the salt has been added and the mixture is fully dissolved and clear, begin measuring the specific gravity with a hydrometer or similar device. Gradually add small amounts of salt until you achieve your desired specific gravity, which should be between 1.025 and 1.027 (at 73-77 °F / 23-25 °C), and ensure the pH value is between 8.0 and 8.4. If all parameters are correct, the saltwater is ready for use.
Once you set up a new aquarium, it will take a few weeks of water circulation and proper lighting to create the biologically stable environment necessary for caring for and breeding delicate marine organisms. A weekly partial water change, replacing 10% of the total water volume with Tropic Marin® Sea Salt CLASSIC, will help maintain the water quality that your aquatic life requires for optimal health.
