Tunze Care Bacter

Tunze Care Bacter contains bacteria on a substrate of powdered Maerl gravel, which keep fresh or seawater aquaria clean

Mode of action:

1. It significantly reduces various green and filamentous algae, slowing down growth on aquarium panes. The introduced bacteria compete with these algae.
2. Nitrate and phosphate compounds decrease as the bacteria consume these compounds as food. Corals digest them, or they are removed by a skimmer or filter at the end of their life cycle.
3. Corals and fish become more vital. The bacteria and other components enhance defenses and lower the risk of diseases, especially Vibrio infections.
4. The aquarium appears much cleaner, and organic detritus/duff is notably reduced. The bacteria utilize the detritus/duff as food.

The product contains non-pathogenic bacteria that are safe for humans and the environment. It does not include any toxic materials, and there is no risk of overdose. However, please remember that the product is not suitable for human consumption. Avoid any contact with eyes and keep it out of reach of children.

Application:

For the initial application, we recommend a “shock vaccination” (scoop included in the delivery) for effective and swift results:

• For aquariums from 500 to 1,000 liters (132 to 264 USgal.): 10 ml (0.33 fl.oz) per week (equivalent to 4 measuring spoons) for 2 weeks.
• For aquariums from 100 to 500 liters (26 to 132 USgal.): 5 ml (0.17 fl.oz) per week (equivalent to 2 measuring spoons) for 2 weeks.
• For aquariums from 30 to 100 liters (8 to 26 USgal.): 2.5 ml (0.08 fl.oz) per week (equivalent to 1 measuring spoon) for 2 weeks.

During the dosing period, we suggest temporarily stopping the existing mechanical filter system and seawater skimming for 10 minutes, and inject the dose directly into the aquarium biotope.

Normal dosage after the first vaccination:

• For aquariums from 500 to 1,000 liters (132 to 264 USgal.): 2.5 ml per week (equivalent to 1 measuring spoon).
• For aquariums from 30 to 500 liters (26 to 132 USgal.): 1.25 ml per week (equivalent to 1/2 measuring spoon).

Again, we recommend stopping the existing mechanical filter system and seawater skimming for 10 minutes during dosing, injecting the dose directly into the aquarium biotope. The concentration is 10⁹ CFU/g, and the contents are 40 ml (1.33 oz).
